Home Sweet Home
I realize this is a long overdue post, as I have been living in my apartment for three weeks already. But late is better than never, right? So here we go...
I moved into my apartment on August 20, 2008. Although I have lived away from home for the majority of the past four years, this is the first time that I have lived by myself (without roommates) long-term. My apartment is located on the Number Two Middle School campus. Ashley and I live in the building pictured above while Ryan lives in a nearly identical building next to ours. I opted for the smaller apartment on the second floor, rather than the larger (extra bedroom) apartment on the sixth floor. What can I say...I'm lazy. Not to mention that my "smaller" apartment is plenty big...a living room, kitchen, bathroom, bedroom, office, and balcony/laundry area.

Our apartments come fully furnished, and even included a TV, DVD player, fridge, microwave, washing machine, air conditioning (in two rooms), dishes, and some pots and pans. Also, recently, the internet finally got set up and a large water cooler was delivered to provide me with "pure water" to drink.

Pretty nice, huh? Of course, you have to adjust your standards to truly appreciate the nice-ness of my new home. That means ignoring the cockroaches that occasionally come out at night, the water stain on my living room and office walls, the thigh high kitchen counter, and the toilet/shower combo.

These problems, however, have proven to be minor and haven't made me love<3 my apartment any less! Also, after having seen our liason's "apartment," where several other teachers also live, and is just one room and a bathroom (basically a dorm) and shared with another teacher, I realize how good we got it.
*If you want to see more of my apartment, you can take the grand tour right here.

Wow, Kelly.
That's quite a tour of your apartment & surrounding area. It sounds like china is very modern & you can get most everything you need. I'll be emailing soon.
Love,
Nana (& Grandpa too)
