Teacher Kelly

As I am writing this, I am sitting at my desk in my office [that I share with the other vol, Ashley and our liasion, Amy (formerally known as Sally)] after having just finished teaching my last class of the day. Today is my second day of teaching, and though it is a challenge to keep the students quiet long enough to actually teach, I am enjoying it. Though it still seems surreal...when did I get old enough to teach??? People are really trusting me to manage 20 classes of 60+ seventh and eighth graders?? (Yes, I have about 1200 students. Crazy, right?).

My Schedule:

Although I know it is next to impossible to learn the names of all of my students, there are several that stand out. Among the Mary's, Sally's, and Billy's, I have Kobe Bryant, Miffy, Black, Blakk, White, Color, Freee, ET, Singular, Wooden Fish, Lucky Candy, Tidy, Apple Pig, Magic Donkey, Rice, Jeef, GG Bong, and my personal favorite, Sexy Boy. And I have only taught 1/4 of my classes so far. So I can guarantee that there will be more to come.

I will keep you all updated as the weeks go on. I'm sorry for the lack of updates. My apartment still does not have internet, though we have been told several times that it will work "in a couple days." We'll see.

Hi Kelly,
It's so good to hear you're now officially a teacher! It sounds challanging, but fun. Are those actually real names, or does everyone just pick a name for fun?
We'll be eager to get pictures and more stories when you get hooked up to the Internet. We miss you.

Everyone chooses their own names. Most choose "normal" names Lily, Alice, and Jack, but there are also alot who choose really random and odd names that make me laugh.
