When I left Thailand almost three years ago, I knew I would be back. Then a year passed. And another year. I began to wonder if I really ever would get the chance to come back. So stepping out of the airport into the city that I spent six of the most amazing months of my life in was…emotional. I was excited, happy, overwhelmed, and a little nervous. My mind (and my heart) was working overtime. What had changed? What if it wasn’t as good as I remembered? What if I *gasp* didn’t like it?? What if, what if...
To sum it up, I enjoyed my time. I caught up with a couple old friends. Visited the places where so many of my memories were created. Ate amazing food. Got a massage. Rode an elephant. Hung out with some tigers. (I’ll post separate entries about these, don’t worry).
I also realized that things do change. As the monks always said, “Everything is impermanent.” But I’m content with how Thailand went. Things change. People change. But it’s okay. I had a good time. I’m glad I went. And yes, I would jump at the chance to go back. :-)
